3120 Highwoods Blvd #100 Raleigh, NC 27604Dare to create simplicity Farming is complex and full of challenges. We work together with farmers, agronomists, distributors and the wide farming communities, to find ways to simplify it. We constantly question convention to move farming forward through simple, practical and innovative solutions in crop protection and beyond. Help farmers grow Farming happens not only in the field. We support farmers to get things done in their businesses and beyond – from sowing to sales, from their labor in the field to their families, their partnerships and raising their status in society. Connect people We want to build close relationships with farmers by being honest, open and agile. We use digital technology to build and run a powerful network that brings people together and influences farming behavior across the world. Open up new possibilities We recognize farming must and will be constantly reinvented. Through our emerging platforms in fast growing markets, we can quickly reach and impact farmers in all parts of the world. Build on heritage Years ago, we were part of a journey that helped farmers make the desert green in a sustainable way, allowing a nation to flourish. Now we empower our people to help farmers do the same again – on a global scale. Farmers cannot achieve this step change alone. That’s why we, at Adama, work hand-in-hand with farmers and farming to: Simply. Grow. Together.

We strive to deliver innovative and effective products that meet the demanding and evolving needs of the medical and scientific communities. Core Technology Affinergy discovers peptides that capture, deliver, and retain specific proteins, drugs, or cells. Using our core technology, phage display biopanning, we screen proprietary libraries of peptide sequences comprising 95 billion unique sequences and structures. These screens lead to the discovery of peptides with high affinity and specificity for their targets. We have discovered a comprehensive panel of peptides for a variety of proteins, cell types, and antibiotics. In addition, we have developed chemistries for immobilizing these peptides on a wide variety of solid substrates, including magnetic beads, agarose resin, collagen meshes, glass slides, silicone, ePTFE, and titanium.

5561 McNeely Drive Suite 202 Raleigh NC 27612 USAFounded in 1980 by Irish biochemist and entrepreneur Dr. Pearse Lyons, Alltech is a leading global biotechnology company whose mission is to improve the health and performance of people, animals and plants through natural nutrition and scientific innovation. We pursue this mission guided by what we call the ACE principle, our promise that in doing business we have a positive impact on the Animal, the Consumer and the Environment. Animal Health Our core business improves animal health and performance by adding nutritional value to feed, naturally, through Alltech’s innovative use of yeast fermentation, enzyme technology, algae and nutrigenomics, which studies the impact of nutrition at the genetic level. Our technologies and support programs enable farmers to realize greater efficiency, profitability and sustainability on their farms. Alltech Crop Science Our Alltech Crop Science division complements our animal nutrition business by focusing on improving the health of crops. Our technologies enable us to improve the productivity of the field, in terms of yield quality and quantity, and to enhance nutrition beginning with the soil and the seed. Human Health We believe scientific innovation in animal and crop sciences is part of a much more important story, that of human health. Healthier animals and crops, nurtured naturally through Alltech’s nutritional solutions, affect human well-being. For example, fruits, vegetables and animal proteins have become less nutrient-rich in the past half-century. From fish to oranges, you need to eat more today to get the same nutritional value. Our work within animal and crop sciences is restoring value and also exploring ways to naturally enrich foods through improving the animal diet or crop produced. For example, laying hens fed a diet rich in Alltech’s algae produce eggs enriched with DHA omega-3, an essential nutrient for human cognitive development and health at all ages.

6 Davis Dr. Ste. 500/PO Box 12878 Durham, NC, 27709 United StatesAltis Biosystems has pioneered the creation of Repligut®Systems, a collection of in vitro models derived from stem cells and designed specifically for pre-clinical drug discovery. RepliGut® models are designed to replicate the complex structure of the human small intestine and colonic epithelium using a standard user friendly format. RepliGut® Systems are a series of human primary intestinal epithelial cell model systems that recreate the gastrointestinal cell barrier in standard culture well formats. Using the same starting cellular material as organoids, these models deliver more reproducible assay results with consistent culture timelines across a range of pharmacological applications including inflammation, toxicity, bioavailability, and barrier function. RepliGut Systems: 1) Replicate human biology using human donor stem cells to recreate different regions of the intestinal epithelium in vitro. 2) Deliver physiologically relevant human data for greater confidence in decision making earlier in the drug discovery process and reducing the need for animal studies. 3) Unlike organoids, RepliGut® model's unique membrane supported configuration grants access to basal and apical compartments in all experimental phases. Kits: RepliGut® Kits are available in both 12-well and 96-well Transwell plate formats to accommodate scientist's needs. Kits are sold complete with the cells, plates, and media needed to culture this unique human intestinal epithelial cell model in your own facility. Technical support is available. Services: All service projects are led by scientists with extensive experience in advanced cell culture systems. Assays are customizable based on your needs and can be run using standard or customized cell culture conditions. Biobank: Our biobank consists of multiple intestinal regions from multiple donors, allowing researchers to study colon or small intestine-specific biology in demographically diverse backgrounds (e.g. age, sex, blood type). Our cryopreserved biobank enables the ability to work with the same donor as your project progresses

7020 Kit Creek Road, Ste 185 Research Triangle Park, NC 27709 USAFounded in 2002, Global Vaccines began operations in 2006 as a not-for-profit company dedicated to creating low-cost vaccine technologies for the developing world. What drives us Vaccines not only alleviate suffering caused by disease, but as part of a comprehensive vaccination program, they can also significantly improve the economies of affected countries. We see our work as part of a much wider effort to help developing countries. Read more We develop and acquire state-of-the-art, platform vaccine technologies that can be applied to a broad spectrum of disease targets of both developing and developed countries. We apply these technologies to diseases of developing countries while sublicensing them to commercial companies for use in the more profitable markets of developed countries. This sublicensing structure helps Global Vaccines to meet its goal of preventing disease in poor countries, while providing new, value-added technologies to the commercial pharmaceutical industry that are more fully proven and therefore less financially risky. Our vaccine technologies have broad applications outside the vaccine field as well, and therefore hold great value to the commercial biotechnology market as a whole. In several preclinical trials, Global Vaccines' novel technologies have already shown remarkable promise across a range of disease targets.

1801 Fayetteville St. Durham NC 27707The Animal Resources Complex (ARC) is the centralized animal facility of North Carolina Central University (NCCU), comprised of approximately 8,000 ft2 on the lower floor of the Julius L. Chambers Biomedical Biotechnology Research Institute (BBRI). The ARC provides services to ensure the humane care and treatment of animal models of disease used in research and training at NCCU. The care and use of laboratory animals at NCCU is governed by mandates of the Public Health Service Policy on the Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (PHS Policy) and the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) for covered species. The ARC exists to provide dependable services the care and use of rodent and zebrafish models consistent with AAALAC accreditation requirements. Development of the ARC was supported by funds from the State of NC, Glaxo-Welcome Inc., and the National Institutes of Health. Zebrafish Core This core has been established to allow all NCCU scientists the opportunity to extend their research projects to zebrafish, in order to better understand the function of their genes of interest. Zebrafish offer unique advantages for the study of human development and disease. As a vertebrate developmental model, zebrafish offers several advantages over rodent models, such as small genome size, short generation time (embryogenesis), external development allowing embryo manipulation, and optical transparency of embryos. The large-scale production of zebrafish embryos is also a great advantage over rodent models, as orders of magnitude greater embryos can be produced from transgenic founders. The similarity in zebrafish and human genomes and conservation of gene function between zebrafish and human, combined with the experimental advantages of zebrafish, make zebrafish an extremely attractive model system for the development of human disease models and for high through-put chemical modifier (i.e., drug, natural product, and environmental toxicant) screening. Wild-type, mutant, and transgenic zebrafish lines are housed in tanks which recirculate water. Technical service is available to provide assistance to NCCU investigators interested in extending their research programs to zebrafish. The ARC is equipped with a station for microinjection of zebrafish embryos, with expansion to a second microinjection station planned soon. The core also contains an Olympus MVX10 Macro Zoom System microscope equipped with epifluorescence and either a color digital or high quality monochrome camera.

600 Park Offices Drive Suite 140 Research Triangle Park, NC, NC 27709 United StatesOwlstone Medical has developed and commercialized Breath Biopsy technology, a breathalyzer for disease capable of the reliable identification and analysis of biomarkers in exhaled breath, with the mission to become the global leader in non-invasive diagnostics for early detection and precision medicine. Breath Biopsy is now an established method that enables the reliable collection and analysis of a wide range of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) on human breath. The company has run the world’s largest breath based clinical trials and has established the first high volume breath analysis lab with ISO 9001 certification and quality checks at every stage of the workflow. In addition to capabilities around biomarker discovery and validation, Owlstone have also developed miniaturized VOC detection technologies based on Field-Asymmetric Ion Mobility Spectrometry (FAIMS) which have already been deployed for field based applications in military and industrial applications. Once suitable clinical biomarkers have been identified on breath, this same technology could be adapted as a cost effective, rapid, small footprint device for point of care or near patient testing. Finally, Owlstone is also developing methods for the collection and analysis of larger macro-molecules in exhaled breath aerosol including bacteria, viral particles and proteins. Unlike liquid and tissue biopsies, which require blood or tissue samples to be taken, Breath Biopsy provides a completely non-invasive solution that maximizes patient comfort. Owlstone offers an end-to-end non-invasive biomarker service to pharmaceutical and academic partners from in vitro headspace analysis of VOCs from cell culture samples to clinical deployment of biomarkers on breath.

5501 Fortunes Ridge Drive, Suite O, Durham, North Caroline, 27713 United StatesStem Genomics is a biotech company, located in France and in the USA, specialized in the design of innovative testing technologies for stem cells. A spin-out of the Institute for Regenerative Medicine & Biotherapy (IRMB) and co-founded by Prof. John de Vos and Dr. Said Assou, experts in stem cell genomic integrity, Stem Genomics has emerged from a prestigious scientific environment. Located at the heart of the University Hospital Centre of Montpellier, the IRMB houses research groups working on basic stem cell research and innovative applications for regenerative therapy with the aim of facilitating the transfer from research to clinical applications. Founded in 2018, we work with +150 clients worldwide, from academic institutions to biotech companies and core facilities. We service our North American clients from our laboratory based in the Research Triangle in Durham, North Carolina, and our European and other international clients from our headquarters in Montpellier, France. Stem Genomics is a team of passionate and committed individuals whose aim is to support research scientists in achieving qualitative and reliable cell lines for their work. We have developed in-house expertise in stem cells and in innovative genetic stability assay technologies which enable us to perform most of our tests on our own platform. In parallel, our R&D team is continuously developing latest generation quality controls assays. We pride ourselves on our reactivity and availability in our relationship with our clients throughout the process. Technologies we have selected for stem cell characterization: - Digital PCR (dPCR) is the most accurate PCR method for assessing the genetic integrity of stem cells through the detection of Copy Number Variants (CNVs). It is ideal for regular in-process controls and fast clone screening. - G-banding karyotyping is helpful in providing an exhaustive structural and numerical variant analysis. - Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) offers a hypothesis-free approach that does not require prior knowledge of sequence information. NGS enables the simultaneous analysis of numerous genes, making it both feasible and cost effective. It is particularly well-suited to key stages in the workflow such as cell line acquisition, banking and/or end of workflow.

5520 Dillard Drive, Suite 260 Cary, NC 27518Synchrogenix partners with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to develop submission documents for global regulatory agencies. Since 1986, our core competency at Synchrogenix has been regulatory writing for the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Focusing on this crucial aspect of the drug development process has allowed us to hone our unique methodology and build a team of regulatory writers who are experts and thought leaders in the field. Rather than vertically specializing in a functional area, as a CRO, CMO, or contract lab might, Synchrogenix horizontally bridges all functional areas within drug development. Our strength is integrating with key stakeholders to create submission documents that are comprehensive, concise, and clear, as well as consistent within and across the entire submission. Synchrogenix breaks through silos, uniting many single elements into one story…your story. Synchrogenix is a leader in the regulatory writing field with a singular focus of authoring and editing regulatory documentation. We know that we are only as good as the documents that we produce. Therefore we are dedicated to the following ideals: Nurturing our writers and editors to increase their knowledge of drug and biological development, and to ensure they are comfortably challenged in their careers. Remaining immersed in global pharmaceutical, biotech, device, and diagnostics regulatory documentation requirements, to understand and anticipate our clients’ needs. Ensuring that we utilize technologies and safety systems that offer the level of sophistication that is vital to our clients. By merging our cross-functional expertise with our writing experience, we deliver documents that not only support clients’ strategic messaging, but also enhance their marketability. We provide many of the benefits of in-house writers—including the experience and perspective of industry insiders—without increased overhead or struggles with fluctuating workloads.

The Contract Research Map is owned and maintained by Scientist.com. It was created to help researchers in the life sciences identify and connect with contract research organizations (CROs) based on geography. Updated nightly, this map features all of the available CROs within our network, so you can order services with a few clicks. Click on a specific country, scroll on the map itself or type into the search bar at the top—there are many ways to find the location and suppliers that you’re looking for. From Argentina to New Zealand, use this map to connect with a CRO near you.
We believe that every researcher across the world should be able to connect with the thousands of global CROs that exist and have the opportunity to work together. Like many industries, the life science supply chain has been disrupted over the last year. But there are many other circumstances such as international customs regulations or sensitive shipping times that create limitations around which countries are feasible to partner with. Sometimes, finding a CRO based in a country that best suits your research needs is imperative. We hope this contract research map allows you to find the right partner in the right place at the right time.
Have questions or feedback? We’d love to help. You can find our FAQs and contact information on the Learn more page.
